This is how Lobster and I spend our Friday nights. 7+ years of marriage and we rock it out by playing Turtles in Time on my eee pad. Who says married life can’t be fun?

Despite the fact that I am happy with my decision to have given up animation and gone instead with graphic design, there are moments where I mourn the loss. Well not really a loss… I never had the talent to really draw. Rather, I mourn the fact that I wanted it so badly but just wasn’t capable of it. Ah well, my talents lay elsewhere, in the field of design and billboards. Btw if you can’t already had a chance to see it, youtube Ryan Woodward, Thoughts of you. The shot above is from his beautiful animation. One of my favorites.

Came across this gorgeous cover for a CD at the local music store. I don’t remember the name of the band, but this caught my eye from across the store. Sigh. I have to say, I still love and adore art that touches on the cinco de mayo look. Its poetic and beautiful in its morbidity. Gorgeous.

I love this quote. So much so that its now on my wall in our office space, as a reminder and inspiration.

So very very grateful for the sudden rain we’ve had. This heat and humidity has this brown girl wishing she was back in the middle east. Weird huh?

I finally found a place for all the little origami cranes that we had leftover from Behbeh’s “Baby shower”, 2 years ago. I’d made them by hand, while being 8 months pregnant – in the summer. There ended up being about 50 of them (as favors) with a handful leftover at the end of the shower. I strung them up and made them into hanging art in our office space.

Totally obsessed with this dish. Cherry tomatos! Be still my beating heart. One of these days I’ll put up the recipe.

There is just something about this sunny yellow furniture that captures the gorgeousness of that day.

“Scooby vans” (aka the mystery machine) painted a lime designer green make my traveling heart go pitter patter. In another life, I’d pack us all up and cross the continent in this.

Added to my list of things I need to have in my future spanish villa style house. Someday.

Whats a great summer without a good fire hydrant street water fight/soak?
Our life’s journey is made up of randomness. For me, it isn’t until hindsight when we see how the randomness actually all fits together. Please keep sharing the randomness.
So true! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I hope one to be able to look back on some of my posts and see the greater, grander picture that it all led me to. Thanks for commenting!
Great Post:) Love all the interesting pics. Not true that you are not artistic –look at the cute oragami you did:) and you have an eye for color. Art wouldn’t be of any use without people like you to appreciate it. Maybe your creative talent lies in photography or some other vein.
About the van you pictured and wanting to go across country in it–we had one of those many years ago–it was well used when we bought it and it was very cool but—the battery was under a metal cover between the front seats–one day the battery blew up and blew right past my oldest son’s head who was sitting in the backseat:) Sometimes the things we yearn for are not what they seem:)
hahaha thanks for liking the origami, it was such a pain to do by hand. And you’re right, I did end up finding my talents lay elsewhere, creatively. We each have our own niche.. just takes some time to find out.
OMG OMG OMG @ the van. WOW, your son is so so so blessed , I would have had a heart attack. Well then, crossing that van right off my list!
That was nice!
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) vibe on that CD cover, not quite Cinco de Mayo
Lovely images!
I KNEW I was mistaking the day… GAH! thanks rabz
